The architect-designed Gothic Revival mansion was constructed for wealthy banker James Seymour with the finest materials his money could buy.

Currently, she is a little worse for the wear having been neglected for years and foreclosed on earlier in 2019.

But the city of Auburn came up with a creative plan: they put the property up for auction in mid December for the price of a mere $50,000. All offers were required to come with a detailed restoration/use plan. The city will now carefully consider each plan and vote on the best one.
