A French Country Farm House

Advertisements

House Crazy Sarah came across this charming French country farm house in one of the old house groups she belongs to on Facebook.

It is located in a rural farm area in the Brittany region of northwest France.

The owner, Stephen, graciously allowed his photos to be shared on this little blog.

And what a delight!

This is La Ville Teadain which Stephen rescued from a sad state in its former life as a milking parlor. Below, you can see what it looked like before he got his artistic hands on it:

Inside, it was only fit for cows.

It’s been completely transformed – the garden too!

Have a peek inside this rustic French cottage…

When asked how old the structure is, Stephen replied: “Not sure how old it is but because of the pegged beams I would guess 175 years old“.

House Crazy Sarah loves that he left the craggy old beams exposed.

The home has so many nooks and crannies and eccentricities – it’s just fun to look at!

Look at this sweet little corner:

Upstairs, more exposed beams in a lofted space…

Look how completely uneven and asymmetrical the original beams are – such character!

The yard is just as charming as the home…

Ah La Ville Teadain…

It’s all so bucolic!

Merci beaucoup Stephen – for sharing your darling home with us house crazies!
