Boulder, Colorado is a great area to go house peeping. There are tons of highly unique mountain homes. Like this one!

Recently listed for $1,700,000, this one-of-a-kind dwelling was designed and built by architect Bill Bowen as his personal residence in 1970.

Remarkably, the home has had only two owners so it is still in near original early 1970s condition!

Case in point: original orange shag carpet!

The unusual home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in 3,851 square feet.

The current owners have some interesting sculptural pieces.

Despite the home’s unique form, it was also built for the mountain views to be showcased.

The house was also designed for entertaining.

Look at the massive circular kitchen…

It’s high drama from top to bottom in this house.

The listing description states: “The price reflects required future updates”

What? No! This place should be kept as the 1970’s time capsule that it is!

And $1.7 million is not exactly a bargain price.

In any case, it is fun to look upon these listing photos.

We can only guess what kind of “updates” future owners will undertake.

Check out this round shower/bathtub combo:

It reminds one of the groovy conversation pits of the 1970s!

The property also includes a 3-car garage and studio.

It seems that an artist lives here – not surprisingly.

The listing photos include some great drone shots so you can get a sense of where the home is located on Colorado’s Front Range.

As you can see in the aerial photo below, the property includes an in-ground outdoor pool – very rare in the Colorado mountains.

But those views!
