When House Crazy Sarah started searching for vintage Christmas cards online, she thought she’d find adorable, festive pleasantries from years past.
But she was surprised to find that many oldies ventured into cheeky land… and beyond.
In fact, some were downright creepy and disturbing.
Many were just… inexplicable.
There were so many bizarro antique Christmas cards, House Crazy Sarah began to feel that perhaps those people who lived before the advent of the interwebs had too much idle time on their hands.
And you know what they say about those idle hands!
House Crazy Sarah also noticed some reoccurring themes…. like anthropomorphic snowmen and animals that would otherwise be on the plate for Christmas dinner.
And then there were some cards that didn’t have anything to do with Christmas at all.
How does the above image – in any way – suggest a Bright and Happy Christmas?Â
*shivers*
Then there’s Santa with his miniature demonic elves.
Can’t forget the creepy twins!
What the heck are those big round thorny things?
They are everywhere!
A drunk (or dead) bird – just screams Merry Christmas, no?
And here’s Santa again inside a big round thing with his dancing demon elves.
A lustful polar bear ogling some dumbfounded penguins?
Oh boy.
Creepy Santa – freaked out doll!
Why such anger and aggression?
After compiling this confounding group of vintage Christmas cards, House Crazy Sarah can only come to one conclusion:
Her Christian ancestors must have had some depraved and twisted senses of humor!

Yes, definitely strange. Think the only one I like is the first one. Most are creepy. Thanks for sharing
Most were very creepy! I believe the artists may have been part of a dark agenda. However, I have found many vintage cards that are just the opposite of these, and they are full of love, good cheer and goodwill!
