Look at this charming little place that House Crazy Sarah stumbled upon on the interwebs!

This distinguished book selling establishment pays homage to the late writer Edgar Allan Poe, master of the creepy and macabre.

Don’t his eyes just pierce your mortal soul!?
Anyway, NeverMore Books is located in the quaint antebellum coastal town of Beaufort, South Carolina.

Beaufort’s claim to fame?  Edgar Allan Poe lived here for a couple of years during his short, tortured life.

The NeverMore Bookstore capitalizes on this local connection by its Poe-inspired decor. The raven, being front and center, is a nod to Poe’s most famous poem, The Raven.

Look at the little book in his mouth!
The name, NeverMore Books, is a reference to the the raven in the poem who terrorizes the protagonist with its constant repetition of the word “Nevermore.”

The unofficial slogan for the bookstore is “look for the raven on Craven!” because the store is located at 702 Craven Street. Cute.

Nevermore Books specializes in fiction, with a large selection of first editions and signed first editions. It has a fun collection of new and used books, vintage posters, gifts, and even vinyl!

The feel of the store is decidedly Gothic. And creepy.

Poe would approve!
