House Crazy Sarah has featured talented miniature house artists before, but miniaturist Lauren P. Dodge puts her own unique spin on dollhouses – she goes to the darkside.
She calls her style “southern Gothic” and House Crazy Sarah is beguiled.
Lauren P. Dodge‘s mini decor is so detailed and intricate, it’s hard to imagine all the time she spends putting these mini rooms together.
Her dollhouse decorating style tends to lean – or veer – toward the ominous and is wickedly fascinating.
Little dentures by the sink! Who thinks of stuff like that?
Lauren P. Dodge does. Heck, she even uses real human teeth!
Yikes! Where does she get these body parts? The internet, she claims. Or, she could just look in House Crazy Sarah’s jewelry box and use all those nasty little kid baby teeth from her kids.
In any case, Dodge’s eye for the tiniest detail is mind-blowing.
Look at the old wash rag… and all the grime.
More dentures (in the glass)! Dodge must have a thing with teeth.
Look at the locks on what is presumably the door to the spooky cellar.
Some debris on the floor boards and….teeth?
The way the shadows and light play in these rooms is genius.
Look at how the paint is flaking off the tin ceiling!
Dodge has reached a masterful level of design with these dioramas.
But how darkly Gothic is Ms. Dodge?
She even crafts mini-murder tools!
For perspective, look at how tiny and intricate the artwork is compared to Lauren’s hand:
A mini curio cabinet full of Victorian creepy stuff!
