Look at this darling historic cottage!
Built in 1882, it is known as Leiper’s Fork Cottage and it is located in Leiper’s Fork Village near Franklin, Tennessee.
The cottage is now used as a vacation rental so anyone can enjoy the quaint atmosphere!
The poetic description below is from the owner:
“Built in 1892 for the Carl Sweeney family, these walls and rooms are brimming with stories. Happiness and tragedy, laughter and tears; generations who loved and lost there. I have truly enjoyed working on the redemption of this home, renovating where needed, and always preserving where I can to let the history shine through.”
Well, what are you waiting for – come on in!
The interior is a perfect mix of modern and vintage elements.
House Crazy Sarah is intrigued by the ceiling… is it wallpaper? Or perhaps some faux paint treatment? Trompe l’oeil?
In any case, it is perfectly lovely.
House Crazy Sarah can’t get enough of the vintage framed photographs…
And have a look at the adorable galley kitchen:
That is definitely wallpaper on the far wall and yes, wallpaper is making a comeback friends – especially in old houses! Also note the chalkboard paint wall:
The kitchen may be small, but it packs in an amazing amount of charm.
“From the fabulous mint green Smeg refrigerator, to the bertazzoni Italian stove, this is a cook’s dream!”
Indeed!
Look at the stylish dining room:
Everything in this home is perfectly elegant, but the bathroom is the one room that has House Crazy Sarah scratching her head…
What’s that black stuff on the walls?
It appears as if some naughty child smeared his dirty hands all over the walls!
But we’ll let that slide because the rest of the house is decorated to make the heart swoon.
The guitars against the blue floral wallpaper is pure brilliance!
Upstairs, there is a sweet master bedroom with comfy chairs and a sloped bead board ceiling:
So pretty!
House Crazy Sarah has been to Tennessee before and she found the whole state to be pleasingly green and pretty.
Next time she visits, she will definitely look up this darling historic cottage!
