Another time capsule home that you can rent to travel back in time!
This one is owned and curated by Tara B. in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Tara operates this vintage/nostalgic vacation rental property named Kitty’s Time Machine.
Have a look inside the fun time-capsule interior!
The vacay rental is actually one half of a 1957 duplex that has been “retro-restored” to the Atomic Age.
The 1,500 sqft duplex unit is located in south Minneapolis in an area called the Diamond Lake Neighborhood. The setting is late 1950s-early 1960s.
There’s a ton of vintage eye candy: the wallpaper, the furniture, even the throw pillows; and where on earth did she acquire that fabulous wall art mirror?
The bedrooms don’t miss out on the mid-century fun either.
Space Cat – how apropos for Kitty’s Time Machine!
The bathroom, pictured below, is frozen in time.
The mast bedroom features kitsch and tacky velvet paintings from that throw-back era…
How fabulous!
We’re not done yet, check out the basement…
It’s set up as a rec room for all ages.
In the corner below, you can see the working 1966 pinball machine:
This would be a great staycation for locals, or a fun alternative to a boring hotel for out-of-towners.
The house comes stocked with some vintage-inspired favorites for old times’ sake.
Tara made the nostalgia local to her city as well with historic Minneapolis photos, art, and books.
A family lives on the other side of the duplex… wonder if they have any idea how cool their neighbor’s digs are?
