What a treat it was to come across this darling cottage in In Kalamazoo County, Augusta, Michigan. The owner has graciously allowed House Crazy Sarah to share photos of the home all decked out for the holiday season.
Homeowner Nancy Webster explains that this humble cottage has been in her family since the year it was built in 1876!
And it has been her home for the last 42 years!
Inside, it has a warm, rustic feel with many sweet Christmas vignettes.
Coziness abounds in this richly decorated home.
Apart from the Christmas decor, Nancy’s style is both eclectic and classic… whimsical keepsakes from a lifetime of collecting adorn every corner of the home.
This pint-sized cottage has one bedroom and one bathroom, plus a laundry room, living room kitchen, woodstove room, and what Nancy calls the Groovy Grouper – also known as the Florida room – which is dedicated to her second favorite place: Anna Maria Island, Florida.
Another fun fact: Nancy’s barn used to house the horses that carried the caskets up to the village cemetery.
Look at the wonderful woodstove hearth:
There is so much to look at in every one of these photos.
Although the house is small, it could take many hours of slowly walking around and gazing to appreciate the many details of light, texture, color, and form.
Says Nancy,
“Occasionally I have a friend say ‘Wow Nancy!! That’s cool…. I’ve never seen *that* before!!’ And I will say… Neither have I!!” 🙂
Some places look like they were made for Christmastime, and this special cottage is one such place.
Thank you to Nancy for sharing this magical Christmas cottage with us!

I love a house with a long history, and to remain in one family, amazing. The stories that house holds within it’s walls. ❤️ Her home is lovely, you could spend hours gazing and not see it all. How lovely of her to share it. Thank you
