Scrivener’s Books and Bookbinding in Buxton, England is thrilling for several reasons.
For starters, it is a used/rare bookstore loaded with vintage books in a very unique centuries old five-story building.
Prior to becoming a bookstore, the building was a Victorian shop with living accommodations. The cellar still houses the old kitchen range and stone sink and the owners have created a small museum there to give a taste of the building’s history.
Located in the UK town of Buxton, Scrivener’s not only sells antiquarian and collectible books (five floors of them!) but also greeting cards, maps, prints, albums, and sheet music.
This place is absolutely bursting at the seams with books!
Scrivener’s has room upon room stuffed with books where book lovers can cozy up and wile away a British afternoon… or fortnight.
Scrivener’s the store is relatively new to history; it was started by Alastair Scrivener in 1997.
Scrivener’s is also the host to many literary and artful events, as one might imagine.
The building’s unique exterior has captured the hearts of many…
Including House Crazy Sarah’s. 🙂
Another one to add to the literary bucket list!
