House Crazy Sarah loves to bring you affordable vintage homes that are within most of our budgets. This adorable folk Victorian in Cumberland, Maryland fits the bill – it’s listed at only $129,900! So unless there’s a typo, this may be the old house deal of the century.
But one note to Realtors: PLEASE stop taking photos of these darling historic homes in the rain!
If at all possible, wait until a sunny, blue sky day because these old homes look so much more alive and inviting than they do on a grey, gloomy day.
In any case, we can still enjoy the beauty of this darling home, even though the weather is dull.
Check out the staircase that greets guests at the front door…
All you really need to know in life is right on those stairs.
The homeowners have that American Pickers vibe going on.
[Another note to realtors: turn off the darn TV! And while you’re at it, put the toilet seats down for the listing photos pu-lease!]
This humble home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in over 2,200 square feet.
The dining room:
The listing description points out that “Homeowner was using shiplap in her designs well before you could find it on HGTV.” Take that Joanna Gaines!
The kitchen with open shelves:
The pantry and island are custom made.
Interesting how the window is tucked behind the pantry (below):
And look at this:
A back servants staircase! Love those braided rugs on the stair treads.
The master bedroom is massive with its own living/reading/lounge area.
There are 2 additional bedrooms upstairs.
This one has some lovely primitives…. and Ralph Lauren!
The bathroom features a clawfoot tub peeking out from under the plaid:
The 3rd bedroom is being used as a dressing room:
And one last note on this vintage house: a great decor idea for stairwells:
Remember this darling dollhouse is listed at only $129,900 so it will probably be under contract by the time this post is published.
